Linocuts don't have to be crafty. I try to use the illustrative connotation and then make work which makes the viewer think.

Thanks for letting me join in too, I appreciated having my own untitled6 (no bidders yet, obviously the closed elite is really very small).

I'll be watching to see where this goes next. There are some ideas to explore by playing with the collision of disposable tweets and deliberately traditional media, e.g. "this tweet will become a work of art when an analogue photo of it is printed in 10x8 format" (how precise an instruction can you embed in the 140 characters?) and it could be taken a step further by setting an iOS twitter client to wake from sleep when a tweet is received, then placing its screen onto photosensitive paper, and waiting to see which tweet becomes an arbitrarily developed physical artwork. A bit of work to get the timings right, and of course it'll be inverted in both colour and orientation, but I might have a go when I'm in the darkroom again next week.

Finally, as you've started this, you may become arbiter of the acceptable bounds of a new elite that forms around tweet art.

Keep going.

Really enjoyed reading this post when I was on my way in to work this morning and stoked to have been so involved. I'm really glad that my rearrangement and breaking of standard DM policy didn't offend. The only thing that makes me sad is that I couldn't tell you I'd liked the post sooner but it's been a touch manic on the work front today

Tremendous. really great idea, thoughtfully executed and excellently analysed. Plenty of food for thought, and some lovely art to experience :)

I was always into art and went to art college some 20 years ago. Not sure what got me into it in the first place. I guess you could call it a life-long passion.

You ought to put some work into a show. It's great fun. There are loads of little art fairs where you could hire a stand, frame some work up and show it. It's very satisfying, and you'll get loads of good feedback.
